Pleasantly surprised. BMW reliable.

We have owned this car for about 3 1/2 years. Bought it from local BMW dealership and added the 100,000 mile extended warranty and service packages. It's loaded with xDrive35i, M-sport options. Performance is outstanding, dependability has been reliable. BMW dealership is 40 miles, so it's a pain for servicing. However, we made sure all maintenance was done, and during the service periods they may have caught a recall or two. It has been trouble free for us up the the current 103,000 miles we are now showing. Probably getting ready to move onto something else, but this has been a fun to drive and trouble free BMW for us. - 5.0

I love my 2012 X3. It is great in the snow I live on a very step hill and no problem in winter. I just replaced my brakes for the first time, the car still looks and drives like new. If I get a flat tire (I have not yet) I don't have to change it I can drive it flat to the dealer without worry. This is my second x3 and I will probably purchase a new one some day, but not any time soon. Comfort and beauty and safety all in one I love it. - 4.0
Impressive BUT............

It is like driving a computer. Great vehicle but only 2 issues. It uses premium gas and it does not have a spare tire. You will need run flat tires. Even that is OK but no one is making run flats in the size I need 245/55R17 so I had to get this size in regular tires. I have AAA Towing and a hand held tire inflator that runs off of the battery as a back up just in case. When you buy the vehicle no one discloses the fact that there is no spare tire. Only if you ask. No spare tire should be an option, NOT STANDARD!!! Run flats can only be driven about 50 to 75 miles without air. What if you live further than that from the nearest service station or break down really far from a repair station. Except for this it is a great dependable vehicle with a wealth of options. Even has a heated steering wheel.
